UNIT UPDATE: BEHOLD OUR BEAUTIFUL NEW FURNITURE!
ABOVE IS PICTURED OUR BRAND NEW PILLOW-TOP QUEEN MATTRESS, BOXSPRING, AND BEDSPREAD WITH AN EYE TOWARDS DETAIL. The 2008 Restoration Project was started on April 22, 2008.
On April 22,2008, the painters began the scraping & caulking of the buildings. This is what Building A's Gable end looked like after the scraping was done before the paint.
On May 7th,2008, the carpenters arrived to replace the rotted wood, crack clapboards, & flash the windows. This prepares the building for the painting process.
It took about two weeks for both carpentry and painting crews to prepare the building for paint. The painting finally began on May 12th. This is the first pass with the spray gun. The new color is called Dusted. On May 12th the painting continues. As you can see, the front of the buildings are now complete.
You can see below how the decks have aged over the years. This is one, of the many, reasons why we were in the process of reconstructing the decks. Now, all the decks are completely finished. We have reconstructed all the railings keeping safety number one.
Now our project is complete for all to see:
